And I'm sittin' back and enjoying the ride!

A few months ago, things started changing around here. My husband and I read Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover, and that is what it is doing to our family. Making us over. Penny by penny we are setting and reaching goals of getting out of debt.

In the process of reading the book and getting on track together with a budget, things started getting a little hairy at work for my husband. I don't know how long he will be employed, and a lay off is always eminent.

Therefore, we have decided to change the direction of our family. Right now, he is in the process of working on maybe entering the insurance industry with an already established company. And in that process, with things being iffy at work, we prayed about me maybe finding employment.

For me to find employment, a couple of things would have to happen. #1, it would have to be nights, and somewhere safe. #2, it can't keep me from my duties as a mother, #3, it would just have to be the perfect situation! So I set out to read the paper everyday to see what was available. In fact, a month or so ago, I had even told my hubby, wouldn't it be cool if I could find part time nights at a local hotel.

Last Wednesday, there was an ad for a job fair at the local Holiday Inn the next day, as a guest relations clerk, AND they were hiring all shifts! So with a prayer and resume in hand, I headed down and applied. I filled out an application and did a quick 10 minute interview. By 9:30 Friday morning, I had a call back for a 2nd interview!

So this morning, I headed down for my 2nd interview. And it went great! I already have a call back for tomorrow.

So things are crazy here, and I'm loving it!

Crazy Life....

I really don't know how people can blog everyday! The kids aren't around this week , so most of it was stuff they will use when school starts.

My envelope budgeting is going well. I'm finally on board with what my hubby has been trying to teach me the last 8 1/2 years. Sorry to say, I'm not good with money at all. But now I'm on board with it. Next pay period will be interesting to see how it works. Our big house payment comes out of that check, not leaving much else after it, tithes, and bills. And because my hubby gets paid every two weeks, it shifts when we get that extra pay check every six months or whatever.

But so far, I've only spent $230 on food. Understand that this is a big accomplishment for me. Groceries were never budgeted, so I spent whatever when I went to the store. The last few months before I started doing this, I was spending $600+ on food a month. That included eating out and groceries, and picking stuff up here and there. Now that I have switched to shopping once a week instead of every two weeks, I don't find myself in the store picking up what I ran out of.

We have 1 more pay check in August. And if I do it right, I will have chopped my grocery bill in half!!!! This has been very exciting for me to learn and play with. And there is actually money budgeted to go do other things. :)

So that's how it went this week.....

PS....I think some stores and candy makers are behind a conspiracy to make our children revolt against us. WHO'S BRIGHT IDEA WAS IT....to put all the candy right up underneath the cash register. I have never had a problem with my kids asking for things except at CVS...its right there at THEIR eye level, and a pack of Starbursts (which Mom said no to) about had us headed out to the van for a "battle of the wills" match. And it was only the first stop! But mom got her point across and off we headed to Jewel for stop 2. I think after yesterday, I will try to arrange it to go shopping by myself. 5 or 6 stops with a 3 and 6 year old is just to much for them. It's almost too much for me, BUT it's so worth the savings. :)

Have a great weekend!

Saturday Morning Grocery Trip

Good Morning, or should I say Good Afternoon, guess it depends on where you are from right now. It actually just turned 12:07 here, so I guess it's afternoon. :)

Here is how my shopping trip went today.

Transaction #1--Jewel Osco

Jewel was having a sale on certain items, if you bought $30, you got $15 back toward your next purchase. So here is what I did...

I purchased their $30 worth of items and it actually came to $26.50 after coupons I had. My $15 coupons toward my next purchase automatically printed out, thus I had Transaction #2 ready. And here that is...

Transacation #2--Jewel Osco

Here you see popcorn which was B1G1, a pound of apples (which I actually weighed and wouldn't you know it, I only got 2 apples). There is also cheese, crackers, and butter. Also you see split chicken breast, which was B1G1. I got almost 4lbs of chicken for $7.39 which is what the heavier of the two cost. So I applied my $15 coupons to this transaction and paid $6.42 OOP.

Transaction #3--CVS Pharmacy

At CVS, I had $12 ECB's from my last trip and a coupon for a free lotion. OOP was $2.33. I also got 1 ECB back.

I'm slowly getting the hang of this. It will take some time, but I'll get it! In just the two weeks I have done the coupons, ECB's and etc., I have knocked $80 off my average grocery bill for a two week period!

So, I spent $37.58 OOP, and my receipts total a savings of $59.75. :)

Till next time, HAPPY SAVING!

P.S. I should mention too, that we are able to slaughter a whole beef every winter, we most do ground beef and roasts, so thats why you will hardly see any beef in my posts.

Can we say.....

EXHAUSTED!

LOL...thats me, today. I am hoping there is enough coffee in the world for me today. But coffee is what got me here to begin with.

Yesterday, I ended up taking my 6 and 3 year old school shopping. We got school supplies, picked up some new clothes and shoes. We were gone almost all day. We got home at 4 in time to unload grab a bite to eat and turn around and spin wheels back to town for VBS, which has been 6:30 to 8:30 all week. While the kids were at VBS, I decided to sit at Starbucks with a Venti Frapp and read. OH, some nice quiet time. It was very enjoyable.

My problem started after that. I went to bed about 10:15 and preceeded to toss and turn and toss and turn and...well, you get the picture. So I got out of bed and finally wound down about 2:00. YIKES....wouldn't have been a problem except.....

I volunteered to keep a friends 3 girls for the day. So I have five kids in my house...LOL. Everyone is a little tired, a little cranky, I think I see nap times for everyone. :)

So thats what is is here....tired and exhausted. I still have a grocery list to make, I need to get bread made, and my kitchen tidied up, but there is no motivation.

Oh, and did I mention its cloudy and cool here today, that doesn't help me any. :)

Until next time,

On A Mission ( A Money Saving Mission)

Okay, so here is my mission...I want to save money! How hard could it be? With me, its very difficult.

Here is how I plan to do this. I have started couponing, and I have done an envelope budget system starting with my hubby's paycheck on 8/14.

I am in need of a newer vehicle soon, and my goal, is to pay cash. We don't have a vehicle payment now, and I don't want to start having one.

Before I spent $200 (every two weeks) everytime I went to the grocery store. I really need to cut that back! I started Friday (7/31) with my coupons, register rewards, and help from God. I really want to be a more frugal steward of my husband's (and God's) money. So here I go.

I have already thrown the receipts from Friday away, but I did do really good for my first time out. I think I spent around $85 in groceries for the week and $45 in personal items. I also got 12 ECB's back from CVS to use toward my next purchase.

Please join me on this endeavor and pray that I can reach my goal.

Till next time,

In case your ever in the area...

http://www.lighthousebaptistchurchonline.com

We would love to have you visit!

WOW.....

I can't believe it's been since Feb 19th since I have last been on here. So much has happened! Blogging seemed to have taken a back seat.

Since I last posted on my doings, I have taken a trip, had surgery, and finished up the school year with DD.

On Spring Break we headed to Colorado to see family. The kids and I road the train out and back. It was a great experience. I highly recommend it if your not in a hurry.

A week after returning from Colorado, I had gall bladder surgery. It was scheduled and I thought I was prepared, but as much as we plan, it always turns out different. It was an outpatient surgery, which I wish it hadn't been. I really wasn't ready to come home that afternoon. They said within 3-5 days I would be back to myself. Well, it was day 5 before I even started to feel better. I was so blessed to have the help of a wonderful church family and friends. After I hit day 7, I was a brand new woman. I had the surgery on a Thursday and the following Saturday I was roller skating and the next night playing volleyball.

I didn't realize I had been feeling so bad, because I have been feeling better than I have for a very long time. I am down 10lbs since the surgery and I am now training for a 5K.

God has been so good too! We have seen many friends lose their jobs this spring, and yet God has provided for each of them. Many of them have gotten called back or found new jobs to provide for them and their families.

May proved to be a busy month with piano recitals and graduations. I was so glad when school was out for the summer. I hadn't realized how much I hadn't been home, until I was actually home last week! DD graduated from Kindergarten and will be entering the 1st grade already. I am amazed how blessed I am with her.

Summer is in full swing here. We have already enjoyed a trip to the zoo and a great picnic for Memorial Day with church family. This summer looks to be exciting! Vacation will start in a few weeks and we are so looking forward to the days away with one another.

Till Next Time....

Bag Give-A-Way

I have never done one of these but found it on a friends blog. />
Today was the first day I had been out of the house in 3 days. My little darlin' girl has been sick again and missed three days of school. There is a strep epidemic at school, but I think we missed it this time (Praise the Lord, we just got over Scarlet Fever). Now my little guy seems to be getting it. I have gone through more Motrin and Tylenol this winter than I think I have seen in a lifetime (I should buy stock). Hubby and I are going to toss a coin to see who gets to go to which service tomorrow. I hate missing church.

Anyways, I left the house for a couple of hours this morning, to go.......grocery shopping. It was nice to get out for a while. It warmed up quite nicely today, a bright sunny 40*. =)

It's been a semi-productive day for a Saturday. Besides grocery shopping, I managed to wash the linens, clean up the kitchen, dust, and vaccuum. Much needed things to be done, as the housework has been ignored the last few days.

I also sat down and laid out the bills for the next week, and I have to say....God is good! It hasn't mattered whether gas be $4.25 or $1.89, He has provided our every need. There always seems to be just enough. =)

Now I'm off to create dinner..LOL. I am going to whip up some homeade salsa and then get together the stuff for taco salad. That seems to be our Saturday thing.

I already have a brisket in the crockpot for tomorrow. It will be nice and tender. I will probably get up and pour BBQ sauce over it in the morning.

From my sometimes magic life....till next time.........

Another One for the Books....

Bruschetta'n Cheese-Stuffed Baked Chicken

Prep Time: 15 min Total Time:1 hr

Makes: 8 servings

What You Need!
1 can (14-1/2 oz.) Seems like things haven't slowed down much since Christmas. I spend 2 days out of the week teaching and cooking hot lunch at our church school and Darvi's school. Mondays are my recoup from the weekend days, and that leaves Thursday and Friday for cleaning and errands and whatever else may need to be done.

My goal this year (especially as we come to the end of the school year) is to learn to say NO; to learn to prioritize and not get my self into things that make my head spin. So far I have managed.

So today was crazy. After being up at 6:15 and showered and ready. I then started dinner in the crockpot, made three lunches, roused the kids, fed them breakfast, and got them desirable for public. Then off I was to drop Darvi off at school before heading for the church. Our Supervisor is out of town, so he doubled up the mom's to help the kids while he was gone. Needless to say, when "the cat's away, the mice will play." We dismissed at 3 and then I was off to pick up Darvi, to the post office, and then home sweet home.

Waiting for me in that contraption known as a girls best friend was the following recipe. It's definetely a keeper. It was great to get great raves on something so simple (even from the kids) after a recipe (which I won't share) from last week bombed.

Campbell's® Slow-Cooker Chicken & Dumplings

From: Campbell's Kitchen
Prep: 20 minutesCook: 8 hours
Serves: 8
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lb. skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 medium Yukon gold potatoes, cut into 1-inch pieces (about 2 cups)
2 cups whole baby carrots
2 stalks celery, sliced (about 1 cup)
2 cans (10 3/4 ounces each) Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup (Regular or 98% Fat Free)
1 cup water
1 tsp. dried thyme leaves, crushed
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
2 cups all-purpose baking mix
2/3 cup milk

Directions:
Place the chicken, potatoes, carrots and celery into a 6-quart slow cooker.
Stir the soup, water, thyme and black pepper in a small bowl. A car is made to run on gasoline, and it would not run properly on anything else. Now God designed the human machine to run on Himself. He Himself is the fuel our spirits were designed to burn, or the food our spirits were designed to feed on. There is no other. Darvi is spending the night with a friend so I am taking her over.

I am reading…just my Bible....seems all I have time for lately.

I am hoping…the rest of the week is just as enjoyable as last week.

I am hearing…the kids play and the Storm Chasers marathon.

Around the house…its a little out of place, but its to be expected with the kids playing with al of their new toys at the same time.

One of my favorite things…fresh bread out of the oven

.A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Watchnight Service tomorrow night and then I am taking care of 3 of 5 children for a friend so they can leave for the weekend.

Only......

11 SHOPPING DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS!!

I'm so frustrated with some things right now. I can't even begin to put it in writing, appropriately.

The last few weeks has been a struggle to maintain composure and compassion.

Please just pray for us. I need guidance on how to handle this certain situation. Will it take care of itself? Will it just go away? What do I do?

I guess all I can do is rely on the Lord to guide me through it.

I'm just so digusted with people these days. The way they treat each other, the way they are so selfish, everyone has just been so nasty. It's disgusting!

So for now, I'm trying to bite my tongue. And I pray too, that no matter what situation overcomes my life, I be courteous and kind to everyone I meet.

The Simple Woman's Daybook....

Today is December 1, 2008

Outside My Window…there is no sun peeking through, the wind is blowing, and mother nature has dumped her first 5 inches of snowfall on us. Humidity says 43%, but I'm pretty sure it's higher than that. So I decided it was time to cool off!

I haven't invested in a pool yet this year, so we made do with the water hose. The kids and I spent about 45 minutes chasing each other around the yard, cooling each other off. Not to mention that Mom got a little "fun" exercise in too.

Then after playing in the water, we chased bubbles for a while. Life isn't always about a spotless house...it's about a home full of memories.

So go make some memories!

Accountability

This is my daily accountability to myself, and for those of you curious. In my kitchen. It's silver metallic coating shining through.

Before, it was an easel, phone book, magnetic alphabet board. It served as a menu, grocery list, and announcement holder. It's held school papers, notes, and art work. It's been covered in letters and numbers.

This morning, I made my refrigerator match my stove. I don't know who wrote it, but it was beautifully written. It struck my heart and brought back so many memories. Enjoy.

God gives us horses and compels some of us to love
them.
Yet why does the horse, an animal with such a big heart, live such
ashort life? Perhaps it's because if our horses lived any longer, we wouldn'tbe
able to bear losing them.

Or, perhaps it's because God wants to
jump. Perhaps God looks down on the fine horses we raise and decides when it's
His turn to ride. He gives us a few good years to care for and learn from them,
but when the time is right, it's up to us to see them off gracefully. OK,
perhaps not gracefully. Blowing into a Kleenex is rarely graceful. But we
can be grateful. To have a horse in your life is a gift. In the matter of a few
short years, a horse can teach a girl courage, if she chooses to grab mane and
hang on for dear life. Even the smallest of ponies is mightier than the tallest
of girls. To conquer the fear of falling off, having ones toes crushed, or being
publicly humiliated at a horse show is an admirable feat for any child.
For
that, we can be grateful.Horses teach us responsibility. Unlike a bicycle - or a
computer – a horse needs regular care and most of it requires that you get dirty
and smelly and up off the couch. Choosing to leave your cozy kitchen to break
the crust of ice off the water buckets is to choose responsibility. When our
horses dip their noses and drink heartily, we know we've made the right
choice.Learning to care for a horse is both an art and a science. Some are easy
keepers, requiring little more than regular turn-out, a flake of hay, and a
trough of clean water. Others will test you - you'll struggle to keep them from
being too fat or too thin. You'll have their feet shod regularly only to find
shoes gone missing. Some are so accident-prone you'll swear they're
intentionally finding new ways to injure themselves. If you weren't raised
with horses, you can't know that they have unique personalities. You'd expect
this from dogs, but horses? Indeed, there are clever horses, grumpy horses, and
even horses with a sense of humor. Those prone to humor will test you by finding
new ways to escape from the barn when you least expect it. I found one of ours
on the front porch one morning, eating the cornstalks I'd carefully arranged as
Halloween decorations.Horses can be timid or brave, lazy or athletic, obstinate
or willing. You will hit it off with some horses and others will elude you
altogether. There are as many 'types' of horses as there are people - which
makes the whole partnership thing all the more interesting. If you've never
ridden a horse, you probably assume it's a simple thing you can learn in a
weekend. You can, in fact, learn the basics on a Sunday – but to truly ride well
takes a lifetime. Working with a living being is far more complex than turning a
key in the ignition and putting the car in 'drive.'In addition to listening to
your instructor, your horse will have a few things to say to you as well. On a
good day, he'll be happy to go along with the program and tolerate your
mistakes; on a bad day, you'll swear he's trying to kill you. Perhaps he's
naughty or perhaps he's fed up with how slowly you're learning his language.
Regardless, the horse will have an opinion. He may choose to challenge you
(which can ultimately make you a better rider) or he may carefully carry you
over fences...if it suits him. It all depends on the partnership - and
partnership is what it's all about. If you face your fears, swallow your pride,
and are willing to work at it, you'll learn lessons in courage, commitment, and
compassion, in addition to basic survival skills. You'll discover just how hard
you're willing to work toward a goal, how little you know, and how much you have
to learn.
And, while some people think the horse 'does all the work', you'll
be challengedphysically as well as mentally. Your horse may humble you
completely. Or, you mayfind that sitting on his back is the closest you'll
get to heaven. You can choose to intimidate your horse, but do you really want
to? The results may come more quickly, but will your work ever be as graceful as
that gained through trust? The best partners choose to listen, as well as to
tell.
When it works, we experience a sweet sense of accomplishment brought
about bysmarts, hard work, and mutual understanding between horse and rider.
These arethe days when you know with absolute certainty that your horse is
enjoyinghis work.
If we make it to adulthood with horses still in our lives,
most of us haveto squeeze riding into our over saturated schedules; balancing
our need for things equine with those of our households and employers. There is
never enough time to ride, or to ride as well as we'd like. Hours in the barn
are stolen pleasures. If it is in your blood to love horses, you share your
life with them. Our horses know our secrets; we braid our tears into their manes
and whisper our hopes into their ears. A barn is a sanctuary in an unsettled
world, a sheltered place where life's true priorities are clear: a warm place to
sleep, someone who loves us, and the luxury of regular meals...Some of us need
these reminders. When you step back, it's not just about horses - it's about
love, life, and learning. On any given day, a friend is celebrating the birth of
a foal, a blue ribbon, or recovery from an illness. That same day, there is also
loss: a broken limb, a case of colic, or a decision to sustain a life or end it
gently. As horse people, we share the accelerated life cycle of horses: the
hurried rush of life, love, loss, and death that caring for these animals bring
us.
When our partners pass, it is more than a moment of sorrow. We mark our
loss with words of gratitude for the ways our lives have been blessed. Our
memories are of joy, awe, and wonder. Absolute union. We honor our horses for
their brave hearts, courage, and willingness to give. To those outside our
circle, it must seem strange. To see us in our muddy boots, who would guess such
poetry lives in our hearts? We celebrate our companions with praise worthy of
heroes. Indeed, horses have the hearts of warriors and often carry us into and
out of fields of battle.
Listen to stories of that once-in-a-lifetime horse;
of journeys made and challenges met. The best of horses rise to the challenges
we set before them, asking little in return. Those who know them understand how
fully a horse can hold a human heart. Together, we share the pain of sudden loss
and the lingering taste of long-term illness. We shoulder the burden of deciding
when or whether to end the life of a true companion. In the end, we're not
certain if God entrusts us to our horses or ourhorses to us. I guess I need to start keeping a notebook of everything I want to say, so I can then post it.

Seems like I get things on the mind, and then get busy and forget what I was going to say.

It's been over a month since my last blog, and things have been so crazy.

The middle of April found me in Colorado for a week. I finally got to see my beautiful new nephew who arrived April 7. It was a busy trip, catching up with family I hadn't seen since Christmas, and of course, helping the sis with the new baby.

Then after I got back from Colorado, the end-of-the-year activities started at school. I, after years of not being on roller skates, found myself volunteering to help the gym teacher conduct lessons for 1st-8th graders. I also managed to squeeze in helping as a lunch volunteer.

For 3 hours a day for 4 days, I was on roller skates, helping the youngsters learn how to use their second set of shoes..lol...I must say, I was in lots better shape at the end of the week than they were. I was proud of that.

Then my hubby was gone for a long weekend to Montana to watch his nephew graduate Valedictorian.

That left me that weekend shopping and decorating for the Kindergarten Program and Graduation. Oh my!!!! That Friday was the longest day I had had in a while. But so well worth it. That morning, I used up my time as a classroom volunteer, before heading out to the gym to setup for the reception. We decorated and set out cookies and snacks for about 200 people. The children had a ball. The program was Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and the gym for the reception copied the theme. It turned out MARVELOUS, thanks to other hard working moms and dads.

Pile on top of all this the daily routine of laundry and meals, I will have to forego the cleaning at this time, as my home did suffer during that week.

So we have finished out May with graduations and Memorial Day. The church had a big picnic hosted by one of the families, but the four of us in my family were finally together without interruption or anybody visiting, so we enjoyed the nice day together.

June looks to be much queiter, I hope! School is out and with gas prices pushing $4/gallon, I am trying to stay home as much as possible. Looks like we will have to use our imaginations to make some fun during the summer.

So life is crazy, and it's also beautiful. I am blessed for each person who is in my life.

Till Next Time.....

One year later....two years later....

This morning I woke up and turned the computer on. That horrible massacre happened a year ago. Two years ago, I was a mom to a 3 year old little girl and a 2 mo-old little boy. I was living in Colorado with my husband. My parents were still married, I was about to become an aunt. Life was okay.

A year ago...I was a mom to a 4 year old little girl, and a one-year old little boy. A year ago, while dealing with the divorce of my parents, my husband got a job oppurtunity. Thus moving us 850 miles from all the family we had always been around.

We are going on 2 years in Illinois now. I also have to make sure my house is in tip-top shape before I leave. Hubby and daughter are staying home, so I want them not to have to look at a mess or anything while I'm gone.

So with all this so called global warming, I have no idea how to pack. It's supposed to be warm, but it could get cold. I've seen it snow in Colorado in May. I'm ready for some warmer weather.

I'm ready for some hiking at Starved Rock with my little guy on my back.

I'm ready to be outside working in the garden....wait, I have to plant it first. I love my flip flops, but they just aren't nice enough for Sunday Morning services, and to go with other things I have.

I don't know if it's that I'm picky or for some reason I refuse to fork over $50 for a pair of shoes I will wear maybe 5 months out of the year.

So, today, I thought I would give Kohls one more try. I take a walk down the shoe aisle, and in the Juniors section (who'da thunk it) I find them. I remember my Spring Break's growing up and that was always a very fun time.

So I wanted to continue the tradition for my little girl. I didnt' want her moping around the house all week with nothing to do, so I got brave.

I let her have a sleepover. And was it a blast!

She invited 3 girls over, which were sisters, but all very close in age. They were so well-behaved!

And I think they even had fun. =)

We made homemade pizza, ate cookies, painted fingernails and toenails, and watched movies. They giggled well into the night.

And the giggles, my friend, were well worth it. That's why I say everybody needs a little girl in their life. Everybody needs to hear that giggle. Boys laugh, but they don't giggle. And I loved the giggling in my house on Monday night.

What A Fun Day!

Okay, so have you lived until you've packed about 6 vehicle fulls of teachers, parents, and 3, 4, and 5 year olds and trucked them off to the local fast food joint and then the FFA Petting Zoo.

That was me today, along with 2 teachers, several moms, and even a dad or two, and about 35 K3, K4, &K5 aged children.

What a fun day! The kids had a ball. They all got a kids meal to enjoy, then they got to enjoy the farm animals. Most of the kids are from the city and don't get to enjoy the big animals. Their excitment was great. For the most part they all behaved and by the Grace of God, this is field trip #2 for the year, and we haven't lost one student yet. LOL.

Todays field trip also brought back memories for me. I was very involved in FFA in High School and I loved every minute of it.

I miss not having any farm animals around. Just trying to sort it all out has my head spinning.

My dad is here for the weekend, and that's exciting. She's feeling better and has been to school both days this week. It just must be some nasty stuff going around, and with her being in school, she's more likely to get it.

Anyways, hubby comes home from church Sunday Morning and informs me I'm no longer able to patronize Starbucks. Why, I ask? I guess Starbucks has been putting some Anti-God slogans on their cups. Why....I ask myself...do they have to do this? I quite frequently visited the drive-thru, and I myself had never read one of these "opinions". It must be serious, when my Pastor will even say something in front of the whole congregation. I wonder how many other church members felt violated and convicted by this. What an insult to us Christians.

So, I love coffee....so now what do I do....I'm gonna go buy an espresso machine and make my own coffee, and guess what.....I won't be buying it at Walmart either.

What's up Walmart?? Sam Walton would be rolling in his grave for how far gone your company is.

Why do I have to walk down the beer aisle...JUST TO GET POPCORN! And you know what else, I'm sick of your rude-non-caring-I don't care if you have help or not-associates.

What happened to CUSTOMER SERVICE? It is so far gone, it's non-exisistent in 95% of business frequented.

My goal is to limit Walmart, Walmart was built for my kind of people, but no longer, even Walmart is changing with the times.

I will be getting my groceries at Hyvee, who have seperated their alcohol from the main building, and they have great customer service, and are very helpful. My fabric will be coming from Hobby Lobby (oh, by the way, who still closes on Sundays so their employess may enjoy their day of worship and with their families), or Joann's. Everything else, I will pick up as needed where I can get it.

I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I hope everyone else will see what these places are doing to families and Christians. We are being disposed of and mocked.

Feeling Better!

YEAH!!! A 5 year old girl, and an almost 2 year old boy.

Both of my kids are so special to me. Even though they have the same bloodlines, they are so different.

My daughter, has been so easy from day one. I'm blessed to have had her. I'm glad God granted me permession to raise her. Her personality is so sweet. She is such a big girl, and she loves to help. This year we put her in k4 at a Christian School nearby. She is learning so fast, and it just amazes me to watch her grow, watching her little brain just try to absorb everything life is throwing at her. I'm excited for her to get saved at an early age and watch what God will do in her life. She's been asking so many questions about salvation lately. I'm excited for the day it all sinks in.

My soon-to-be 2 year old keeps life entertaining. A different kind of blessing, but he does keep me on my toes. He's such a boy, and I'm so thankful for that. He' s a little more stubborn than his big sister, but that's not a bad thing right? We'll see. Underneath all that boy though, is a cuddly, lovey boy who loves to give hugs and smooches to Mom, Dad, and Sissy. Oh, and he loves his big trucks and basketball. He is so outgoing. It will be fun to watch him grow up too.

I'm so blessed to have these two in my life.

They say time really flies after you have kids, and that is no joke. It has continued to cruise, since school has started.

Before I know it, I'll be attending their graduations.

Spring Fever

Spring Fever--

Does anybody else see that endless blanket of snow?
